It's a dealer lottery but the chances are they will only perform a software update if there is a recall or to fix a problem.

Seems a good price, even though mine was free and got the PCM software update out of it.

Maybe should have quoted 'Diagnostic connection to identify and download any relevant new or upgraded software to your car's operating systems' as I have others that are out of date.

Took mine in for the Convenience check and Ford Assist renewal today. I got a call to tell me that they had spoken to Ford and the service plan I had didn't include the convenience check and renewal.
I said what happens now then, they said it will be £95 if I still wanted it doing. I pointed out that with the plan I bought at £239 plus £95 it would make buying the plan pointless.
Anyway, I had an email and receipt from Ford that clearly stated that the convenience check was included. I forwarded that to them and they talked to Ford again and I got it done, no charge.
Service receptionist, told me that they do their own service plan, nothing to do with Ford, apparently, some sort of direct debit monthly payment.
The car was with the Technician (Mechanic, Grease monkey...whatever) for around 15 minutes, I was sent a video of the underneath check that took around a minute and a half. If I'd had to pay £95 for that I wouldn't have had it done. Even with some of the discounted prices, I wouldn't have been happy.

Glad you got it sorted Sparks, was your dealer on the participating dealer list? My local dealer isn't and they have their own service plan so might be similar scenario

Yes they are on the list. When I booked the service in via their central booking (They have several branches country wide) I told them I had a prepaid service, they checked and said they had it and it wouldn't be a problem....Guess the local chaps didn't get the memo..

Not sure I’ll bother. I have two years breakdown with the fact it’s a Ford Direct car - I think.

I’ll double check but with the miles I normally do I would expect by November he will only have around 5k on the clock. I can check the fluids myself.
