Successfully updated my Sync to 3.4 via USB. Ford now say I have a 23.7GB map update. I'm already on maps F10 - this seems like a big update foe a car that's just over a year old... Do I risk it?

That map update is a blip in the system. Don’t try and update with it. 23gb is huge!

F10 is the latest maps.

Well, I went to my sisters to have a go at downloading this (as her connection is much faster). It downloaded something, but I can't unzip it to see if it contains the magic 'three files'.

Along with Stoopo's advice, I'm giving up, unless someone else has a positive experience.....

Why do Ford do this?

Just got notification of a new Sync 3 update size wise it's 2.4 GB, anyone downloaded it yet?

It took a good 30 minutes. I didn't look at the release before I started so not certain that it has updated. However there is a new Map Update now available. The last one took 2 1/2 hours so this will have to wait until a very long journey!

One thing to note, it told me my 64GB drive was not supported. I had to use a 32GB drive. I don’t know if this is a restriction in size or I have a duff drive (but it works on everything else!).

same here, as you say maps will get done on a longer run try doing a quick reformat on your usb drive, I know they play up at times

New logos and voice packages are supposed to be included in the latest update.

Downloaded mine onto a 4GB stick I had doing nothing, without any problems. As said, it must be formatted to exFAT.
