Hi, that was my conclusion and why I ordered the new ST rather than 155. I also had some reservations on the possible firm ride. I have had my new ST for around 6 weeks now and the firmer ride is more than acceptable. You notice it more on poor B roads, but no issues on regular decent road surfaces.
In my short experience the ride and handling in Sport mode is better. Definitely no regrets, plus the ST version looks better than the ST line x.
How can the ride in Sport be and different? It doesn’t have DCC so it is absolutely no different ! All sport does is make the first 1/3 rd of throttle pedal travel more responsive and weight the steering slightly which it certainly doesn’t need. Plus pump out more hideous fake noise into the car

I am curious about something because I'm not completely sure how the law stands at the moment with brand new cars...
Is the speed limiter active on your car everytime the engine is turned on, and if so can it be disabled in the same way start/stop and lane keeping assist can?
Yes, it can, but annoyingly one has to do it every journey. Press and hold 'Lim' on the steering wheel for those who have one, (a 'Lim', obvs not a steering wheel!!) .

Driving back from Tewkesbury on Sunday though, I did something that stopped speed increasing no matter what pressure on the pedal was, then more fiddling and it went away. I need to work out what I'd done.
Thanks for that.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a transitional period and the day will come when it cannot be disabled.

You must have pressed the LIM button. Quite a handy feature of you are in an unknown area as it will only let you do the speed limit +2mph on mine whether you go from 30 to 40 to 60 etc.

Is this based on your experience driving in a facelift ST? I'm just saying how it feels to me.
Would be interested hear what other people who have the latest ST think 🤔

Seems this forum is going the same way the Fiesta ST one went. 8.5 is better / 8.0 is better. C’mon folks. It’s where Ford have decided to go. Personally I dont think a 1.0 is an ST but that’s my opinion and I'm absolutely happy that we have new forum members joining.

New owners of the ST will I'm sure love their cars. I was very close to swapping just for the new interior and infotainment with the 155 but can’t justify it as Mrs B wants a new En Suite!

Would love to hear from new ST owners of their thoughts on the new ST.

Life’s too short for us all to get upset about first world issues

Peace Out!

I ordered my facelift Puma ST on Monday last week and picked it up yesterday. I've only driven it for two hours and while the ride is firm it's more than acceptable. And I love the new interior. Just gutted I didn't get the paper manual as a PDF is not as convenient to use.

On my mid 2023 car the speed limiter is adjustable in 1mph increments, so I would assume they are all like that.
I have mine set to +3mph.

As I said selecting Sport makes no difference to ride or little else. Predominantly pseudo effect apart from the noise. Certainly no change whatsoever to maximum power outputs, full throttle in any setting is identical and the same for the suspension. Only good things “Sport” does is it gets rid of that awful boring blue dash and turns off stop start.

It’s a forum good and bad, the way it should be. I think the fact is Ford are in a serious financial mess with very poor ev take up and very poor decisions with the established portfolio, i.e management incompetence. It has resulted in a change from the past of the new versions of cars always improving. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to identify that new versions are primarily driven by cost cuts and inevitably an effective downgrade from previous.

I haven;t had a Puma before, so the facelift is my first venture back into Ford world (I had a Focus when they first came out). I traded an Audi Q3 (TFSIe plug in hybrid) for this as was downsizing costs, and I must say recognising that this is a smaller car etc, I've stopped comparing now, and am over the difference in build quality etc.

But it goes like greased weasel poo. I have been hell's granny several times, have burned off quite a few - I think people don;t understand what a difference the electric boost to acceleration etc actually makes.

It's great fun, really is. It's comfortable. It's economical. It's not a Porsche or Ferrari, it's a Ford!
Puma ST Facelift in Desert Island Blue, with removable towbar and black roof/styling. Love it
