finally got my puum puum on the road , the sport mode is leet , gives that good bit of faster acceleration.
my questions are .
does the different driving modes use more fuel?
how are your cars when recharging hybrid (engine braking), the slows down noticeable, as if your applying brakes.
how many people are finding it that you get 420 Miles or so from full tank , you are still having to fill it upmore ?
on plus side , my plastic clip that holds the parcel shelf on to tailgate was broke , picked a new one up from arnold clark for under £3
it is fun but....
The different modes do affect fuel consumption, but I've found not by much. Obviously Sport mode is going to use a bit more, but the difference between Normal and Eco is very little difference if any.
Engine braking is behaving as it should. You can actually drive it with very little use of the brakes if you anticipate correctly.
When you say filling it up more.....More than what?

First thing to be aware of is that Sport mode does not make the car capable of faster acceleration, although its easy to see how you might think it does.
What it does is make the throttle more sensitive to the pressure applied by your right foot, so driving with the same pressure on the pedal compared with Normal mode you will feel like the car is accelerating quicker.
To answer your other question, yes using Sport mode will use slightly more fuel around town when driven in the same way compared with Normal mode, but for motorway journeys the difference will be negligible.

Sport or any other mode actually makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to the available acceleration or performance of the car. All it does is changes the sensitivity of the throttle pedal. Put simply, foot to the floor is identical in Sport as it is in eco! You get more horrendous fake sound to help with the pseudo effect!G1zm0 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 6:17 am finally got my puum puum on the road , the sport mode is leet , gives that good bit of faster acceleration.

And it will only change your fuel consumption if you use the same throttle position to accelerate in Sport as eco, simply because in sport your effectively pressing it further and accelerating harder, but if you just pressed it a little further in eco (which you will end up doing naturally !) it will be identical.
I was comparing it to my focus diesel, it's 68 to fill that and I get 650 miles , compared to 47 for 420Sparks wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:58 am The different modes do affect fuel consumption, but I've found not by much. when you keep your foot at same level and cycle through modes , the sport does accelerat more .4251 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:41 amSport or any other mode actually makes absolutely no difference whatsoever to the available acceleration or performance of the car. and it's quicker away from lights .
I've noticed the rest are basically the same ,
It does not accelerate faster, the system only makes it seem like it does.
2 of us have explained why.
