I grew up in the 1990's and loved growing up around the original fast fords! Always wanted a Escort RS Cosworth, although I did get a scaletric one...
Grew up with a Ford Orion Ghia SI 130 BHP (Still in my garage, non-runner) Previously had a Puma 1.4l before it died a horrible slow death! Had a Toyota Aygo now for 10 years bought at 6 years old, starts everytime, tbh I think I coudl drive it off a cliff and it would still start. Have had a few Fiestas on PCP, Red edition and a few vignale's (The real one, before the Mk8 which was not a patch on it!) Now I am the proud owner of a Black Puma ST, which I intent to buy after the PCP is up, aslong as it doesnt cause me issues.
So far, after two weeks of ownership I have noticed a tiny tiny gap in the rear plastic trim of the door. I mean tiny, but will ask for it to be fixed at first service. I have noticed the gears feel a bit off going up into third or going back into first, so will be having the car looked at by a local dealer shortly. I have been told the gear box in this, isn;t as smooth as say a standard fiesta, but it feels like it;s slight catching (clutch not fully disengage, not sure) But want it looked at. although tbh, i'd rather not have a brand new car mucked around with, it bothers me. I can see a lot of posts on here about the gear change, so I imagine I am not alone.

Is it a full fat 200 1.5 ST? The gear change is a bit baulky if you’re aggressive with it, that’s the way they are and no ford garage can do anything about, nor will they. They get better with a few miles. You do realise the Puma is a mk8 Fiesta underneath! But disagree with you about that, mk8 Fiesta is far better than a MK7 in every respect.
I also had an Orion in the 80's (just). I bought a new Mk.2 in 1989 and yes it suffered from exactly the same rust problem.
I struggle on with it for 8 years before trading it in for a 6 month old Mk.2 Mondeo 2.0 Si.
The Mondeo was a beautiful car and the first to wear my number plate. I ended up keeping it for 9 years.

Oh yes, it's the full fat ST. TBH, I wasnt going to get it, until I found out it's last petrol only. I think I may have confused Mk7/Mk8. We had two Fiesta Vingale's, before the final model, to which we had to switch to a Titanium Vignale, which i think turned into 'X'. The Titanium one, was missing a lof luxury in the previous cars. The leather seats (best seats, leather dash and all round quality feel. Plus the power fold wing mirrors went, one shot down windows, nearly all went and the build quality felt worse, felt like it was stripped down before ending production.

That would take a lot of work and I mean a lot! I was hoping to sell it to a collector at somepoint, I think there is only a handful left. Bit of rust ont he wheel arches, but the rest of the body work is pretty clean, although could do with a respray as the bonnet paint did peel off. It's pretty unique, as it did have a non-write off front end accident at one point, not bad, but they changed the front grill to the the later version, which looks nicer and I guess makes it the only one with that potentially! It was my dads pride and joy!
Just drove the Puma home, it does feel great to drive, although I am not having lots of fun yet as I am keeping it under 4k revs until i pass the 1k miles mark. I quite like the steering wheel, it reminds me of the steering whell in the Orion!
I’m new to the forum although this my 3rd puma, the first was a 20 plate 155mhev which was nothing but trouble and still isn’t fixed then a courtesy 125 and just bought 22 plate 155 mhev with 10k, here’s my question, its just gone 2 years old but ford say it doesn’t need its first service yet as its not done 18k and probably won’t for another year but ford say 2 years or 18k whichever comes first. Are they just trying to save money? I’m quite happy to argue with them as I’ve already been a pain in their backside, what’s everyone’s view on this? Should I have insisted on a service? I haven’t picked the car up until later.

It’s the same with my Fiesta every 2 years, though with the Puma ST it’s every year
Not that the fiesta does many miles the oil monitor still says 50% life
Though it’s just passed it’s MOT with them and they checked it all over etc etc
I’ve been really impressed with my local dealerships service department
If it’s gone over 2 years I think I’d be pushing for a service, even to keep up the service record and dates
They did the 2 year one even though it had 1911 miles lol and the 4 year on 31k which was 5k early
Next one due 54k or 6 years
Think its usually done by miles or years to determine could be wrong

If it’s 2 years old it’s due a service, end off! Walk away from it otherwise. But they go by when it was first registered and not pdi which can often be many months apart as they pdi them or more accurately claim to! When they get them in
The first service is always due by total mileage or time from first registration, whichever comes first.
At my current annual mileage it would take around 6 years before my ST reached the mileage requirement for the first service.
