Gearbox Issue - 2nd gear dead

Someone posted on FB yesterday with the same issue. Not sure if it's the same person mentioned above.

I happened to drop in a question on the new Ford Puma site advert by Ford if they had changed the gearbox as some had issues outside of warranty on time but at half the mileage of the 60k miles warranty. Ford are conning people with this as all cars which would cover 60k miles in 3 years would hardly be using second gear at all. The timeline should be longer for engine and gearbox. It's like saying they have no faith in their product. My comment got deleted.

We need to call out Ford on this. I’ve emailed the guy that does the Sun articles on Sunday. He’s pretty much on the ball.

I’m sure there are others we can approach.

you could always try to contact Geoff buys cars on youtube, he will talk about most issues that he is made aware of. I think he is on Facebook/ twitter etc.
That should get Ford's attention.

Same issue Same Puma, 40000 miles 70 plate. Only had it 18 months bought from a dealer. Keeps jumping out of first gear. Quoted in the region of £3000 to repair it and no guarantee another gear won't go. I can't afford it. I need my car for work as I'm in rural Scotland I'm basically buggered.

The TSB for this issue is 23-2410 I got in the Ford Garage from reception who kindly looked it up for me.

Does it matter? If the gearbox goes bang, it goes bang.

Does it matter? If the gearbox goes bang, it goes bang.

It may matter to those who are being asked to pay for a new gearbox if there is a TSB which has recorded the issues with the gearbox.

Just contacted Ford Customer Relations Centre UK as I have the exact same issue on ST-Line 20 plate with 30k. They said they had no recorded cases with this issue!!!
