After 6 months of ownership only doing journeys averaging less than 4 miles I finally got to test my fuel consumption on a decent run, although it wasn't ideal conditions.
This is the journey I test and compare all my cars which is a round trip of approximately 110 miles of mainly dual carriageway and motorway with some town driving at either end.
The outward journey was on Christmas Eve during a storm and the majority was driving into a strong headwind, but the return journey on Christmas Day was much calmer albeit pouring with rain.
I took a photo after a reset immediately before setting off then another upon arriving home. The indicated mpg before setting off for the return journey was 42.1 so this shows how much the outward journey was negatively affected by the storm conditions. If it wasnt for that the overall average would have been around 50mpg.
Fuel computer readings are good enough for me because it will be close enough to the actual plus it is the simplest method for comparison.
The car used approximately 1/4 of a tank and I am happy with the results, although my previous car with over 100 bhp more could match or beat this on the same journey driven in the same manner.
Notice the predicted range has only dropped by 19 miles after driving 109 miles.
My ST MPG On A Run
I reset my trip computer 2 the day i collected my ST.
Current MPG is 39.5 over 7500 ish miles.
mostly short journeys to work of 6 miles and a handful of long distance drives up and down the country over the last 10 months.
I’m pretty happy with the mileage considering i drive mostly in sport mode.

Puma ST Agate Black. Dark Wheels.
Yeah they will indeed.
It's actually a massive 700 miles now after my run.
I don't need my car for work now so it only comes out at the weekend, and even then rarely leaves the local area.
I have thought about it and questioned whether I should have spent so much money in the first place, and being truthful with myself the answer is no.

Ron we all deserve to treat ourselves occasionally, whether we can justify it or not.Ron240 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2023 1:05 amYeah they will indeed.

Ron, I agree with Wilto....I'm in the same boat as yourself. I don't need the car, but I like the car and there are no pockets in shrouds for a reason....

That is very impressive for an ST as an average over such a long term.
The majority of your journeys from the outset must have been be longer distances with everything up to normal operating temperature where you can sit at steady legal speeds, because short urban trips with continual gear changes would kill that average.
Before I did this journey my Trip 2 reset after pickup was sitting around 36 mpg over 590 miles, but all of that was very short distance (less than 4 miles) town driving from a cold start...which I think is also quite impressive.
My boy racer days are well behind me, but I still like having cars with a bit of power should I choose to use it.
