There is no microswitch for activation in mine...Where others have one I have a solid rubber stop . I have the 3 slots but no sign of light.
Same on my 73 plate Vignalle.
I guess this is another thing Ford have quietly dropped on new cars, like the badge on the boot lid and the paddle shift on the automatics

Except that both older and new cars have the light with seemingly no rhyme or reason to it, and according to the poll cars that do have it outnumber cars without by over 3:1 currently.

Had a delve this evening. No switch. There may well be wiring for this but it's probably wrapped up in tape or may even not be there at all. A quick inspection with my phone torch didn't throw anything obvious but then it was dark and raining and I really wasn't in the mood for it. Can also confirm that said switch is one that FORD have been using since for ever. If you do drop the glovebox lid down - the soft close / open assembly on the glovebox needs to be unclipped from the left side of the glovebox. 1x10mm bolt and 2 Torx screws hold the top shelf in place, it just slips forward and drops out.
The switch doesn't clip into the upper removable shelf, it clips into the dash frame on the top side of it and then the shelf goes back in place with the switch poking through. For now that will do - i'll deal with how to power it / where to power it from when the nights aren't so dark.
Maybe i'll be a cheeky arse and fit it, leave the plug out and then take it back to Ford and ask why it's not working
Just checked on my wife’s ST Line (2023.75MY) built May 2023. This does not have a glovebox light but the switch is in place (top left corner of the frame). There is no sign of any wiring. The handbook refers to the type of bulb fitted but this may have been another change for the latest model year. Or maybe they just ran out of bulbs!

The microswitch for the light is located slightly left of centre.
What you are looking at is duplicated on top right corner as well.

Is there supposed to be a light in the glovebox?
Opened it last night - pitch black, was expecting it to light up like just about every other car I have had in the last 30 years....
Surely there's supposed to be a light in there? Am I missing something???
I've had 2 Pumas and no light in either glovebox.
Rewind, I do have a glovebox light. Need to fully open the box. During the day it's not so noticeable, especially from the drivers seat.
