HP Victor B2, best and most aggressive looking 50's design of the 3 UK V force RAF bombers.

It was a good display of planes I’d not seen before in person, Halifax and a Dakota which I sat in, which holds memories as my Dad when he was alive said he was transported back from Egypt in one after the war.
As I sat there I wondered where he would of sat

The air museum is on my list, i have no excuses since i live less than 1 hour away. Some impressive pieces of equipment.

I use to get the odd ride in DC3 Dakotas when Air Atlantique were flying them out of Coventry airport in the 80's. If I remember rightly they had a Royal Mail contract and an oil spillage contract which had the Dakota's fitted with spraying equipment. They were responsible for keeping quite a few of them flying for longer than most. I think some safety reg changes at the end of the 90's or early 2000's finished them off commercially.

Yeah was nice collection of items, different from the ones I’ve seen at Duxford which is closer to me
Can recommend Bletchley Park as well as just down the road from me and took me years to visit (if you’ve not been of course)

Not comfortable at all and pretty bumpy, but, strangely a joy. I guess your dad's circumstance were different as the choice factor was removed....

I was at Muharraq airport in Bahrain during GW1 when Lusty Lindy's nose art was painted on. I was on a Tornado squadron at the same base. My own aircraft was ZA471 E for Emma (see photo below). Emma was actually page 3 model Gail McKenna copied badly from the 1991 Sun calendar. Our nose art wasn't nearly as good as that of the Victor and Buccaneer guys on the base.

Edit... I remember thinking at the time we started painting the nose art that we were in a strict Muslim country and we would be told to remove it pretty sharpish but we weren't and it stayed.
