My free subscription comes to an end in a month. Questions:

I having a devil of a job to find out how much the annual cost is. Is it a secret??? Has anyone got a Ford link to the current price?
Is there any downside to using the phone's data to feed the Live Traffic system?

Thanks.

Of course, straight after posting I find the cost - £3.49 per month, or £54 pa. Quite a lot.

I'd still like an answer to the second question, though please.

Live Traffic via Applink ceased on 26 Aug 2022. Interesting that what you call quite a lot, I call cheap then again I only use the Sync Nav so route with live traffic is ideal. Somebody with Android Maps will be here shortly saying it is better!

Unless my maths is wrong, 12 x 3.49 = £41.88 so £54 pa is a particularly bad deal :D

Thanks for the answer (and thanks for correcting my rubbish arithmetic).

So is 'Live Traffic via Applink' using your smartphone to supply data? So, put simply (and it needs to be simple for me), you are saying that you either subscribe and pay, or you don't get Live Traffic?

OK thanks. So it's cough up, or use Android Auto with Google Maps. Or fish out my old TomTom.

Well now I'm baffled. I don't use Android Auto much, but the last time I did, I would have sworn Google Maps was one of the icons. It no longer is (and Waze is not an option either). Neither appear on the customisation screen. Touching 'Maps' with the phone connected to AA bleeps, but does nothing.

Perhaps this is a feature of the last Sync 3 update?

Baffled ...

I doubt it's anything to do with Sync updates. Mines connected wirelessly and it all still works.
Which phone are you using? I think some had a problem with the last android updates.
