I know I'm probably in the minority on this colour but it just reminds me of primer paint...not keen at all, sorry.

No, you are not alone. Just looks drab and dull to me.

Yes this "grey" colour is a marmite one, and no mistake.

Those of an older generation (I go back to the 1960's with cars) would do our own amatuer repairs at the weekend to keep our old bangers going, and we would always prime a "work-in-progress" repair with grey primer (matt of course).

Essex streets were full of "patchy two-toners" waiting for the final top coat to be applied. Thick grey primer probably meant bad rust underneath, topped with filler, so was an indicator of bodge rather than to be admired. Indeed for banger racing it was often all you did - cover it in grey primer - and you were ready!

Today's generation have no such hang-ups about the colour and so each to their own by all means, but running around in a mottled grey car was worse than a beige Allegro back then!

Its a very hit and miss colour, a bit like White and Black. Some cars look great in them, some look cheap. A collegue has a Nardo grey ID3, it looks awful frankly, but the Ford version of that grey on the Puma looks good.

I’m biased here as I have my ST in it and black roof and the colour looks different in different light simply sets off the ST a treat 👍

Solar Silver in the right light looks like a flat grey.

I personally like that grey, but not on everything. Colours are very much a personal taste. There was a trend recently for solid sky blue on high end German cars. Seen a few M3s in it, but to me its 'base model blue'. It was often found on Escort and Fiesta Populars in the 80s. I think its gross, but each to his own.
