I’ve been reading a topic on the 500e forum today and they are all saying the big mileage issue comes with speed. None complain about the heating or air con or heated seats but many drive on motorways at 60mph to increase distance.
Not for me if I have to drive at that speed to avoid paying more for electricity than petrol on the motorway.
230/40 miles isn’t bad if you aren’t looking to do long distances. Normally that would mean two charges a month for me. But the motorway would kill it for me!
The odd motorway fill-up is fine - it costs what it costs (offset by massively cheaper motoring the rest of the time.)
It's the fact that it'd need to stop for a decent charge at least twice on a run up to Scotland - and still arrive with an empty battery, that is the turn off for me.
And the fact you can get an explorer for less per month on PCP - not sure what's happened there.
It might not be as much of an issue on the EV Puma with pre conditioning, but they no longer come with quick clear windscreens as default, despite what the current ford site states. You have to get the winter pack to get the heated windscreen + seats and steering wheel, assuming the models are homogenised across the EU and assuming the current cars being demoed on YouTube are final spec.

The other issue is that the battery technology will be old in a year or two, as other manufacturers are developing solid state batteries.
As with all technology, you can only jump on the down escalator. There will always be something new over the horizon ...

Reports of its performance follow a flurry of results since 2021 that suggest we are only about five years away from quantum computing becoming powerful enough to start transforming humankind’s capabilities to research and develop new materials from drugs to batteries, one independent UK expert said.

Indeed, but the difference will probably be quite substantial unlike that of a new petrol engine, so the prices of cars with old tech will take a hit.

I think Nissan are saying they'll be first with solid state batteries in 2025 or 26. Twice the power and half the charge time in the same footprint.
The batteries are also meant to be around 40% cheaper too, so no point getting an EV now.
