Hello. My partner bought her 21 plate Ford Puma in October. And since we have had it I have noticed an occasional light 'knocking' noise heard from inside the car and I had struggled to track it down until yesterday. Or at least I think I have. I was at the front of the car yesterday and I noticed at started up when the headlamp self levelling system does it's startup check / levelling, it was quite noisy. After the initial check, there were a few minor movements that sounded like a light clunk and I could distinctly feel the clunk in the headlight unit.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or is it normal? I've had a fair few cars with HID and LED self levelling headlights and never noticed a noise inside the car when the headlamps were levelling.
Headlight Noise
Hello, Welcome to the forum.
They have now dropped the self levelling, but, I had it in my last Puma and it just worked silently, no knocking.
Something may have come loose, might be worth a dealer visit if it's still under warranty.
