as long as your car does everthing alright as you start and drive it it's all cool .
That's not quite correct. Most people have found that when they get the deep sleep message on the app, keyless entry on the front passenger door is not functioning.

okay , i never tried that .... i haven't had it happen a couple off weeks now .
the only thing i changed was shutting off auto start stop on very short runs with many stops like traffic lights

Exactly the same thing happened to the other day coming home on the A55, battery light came on red then things started to power down scary experience. My service is due as kept promting on the screen and I just kept pressing OK to clear for the past 4 weeks, just wandering if ford can force anything to the car like that to make the car die ?? That was mentioned by the breakdown person..

No. Dismissing your service reminder has nothing to do with your battery light fault coming on.

Get the fault codes read by the dealer for repair.

Well I’m away at present. We drove 250 miles from York to Andover last Thursday. Today my car went into deep sleep.

Not unduly concerned as it is very cold in the U.K. and it’s taken almost a week to kick in.

However the last two times away it’s lasted 14 days before deep sleep. Admittedly they were summer months.

Will be interesting to see if she starts in our return in April. 🥴

Battery light has nothing to do with deep sleep. Battery light on whilst driving is indicating a charging fault. Get it checked out by a dealer.

Hi my daughter had a complete power failure on the motorway last Sunday in her Ford Puma. She’s a new driver and has only had her Ford Puma four weeks. It’s done 11000 miles and is 4 yrs old. She had stalled a number of times at a major roundabout and after that a battery warning message came up and went. She carried on driving probably about 15 miles on the motorway when suddenly the car lost power and she had to cruise to the hard shoulder. Absolutely terrified she called me. No lights nothing and she’s a novice driver stuck on a major motorway hard shoulder. She had to get out and run down a bank for safety. Called the AA who thankfully came out after 20 mins and jump started the car and escorted her home. The AA said they’d had three call outs from Ford Puma owners losing power in the last week and that’s just in one area of the UK. What is going on? How can we be sure this isn’t a major problem? Need a recall ? If she’d been going up a hill, or in the rain or at night it could have been very serious . The car is now in the garage and they’re going to download the computer data. But what do others think is going on? Would you still want to drive such a car if they say they can’t find anything wrong? Too many people on this forum have had similar problems for it to be a coincidence. Grateful for any advice.

Hi Welcome to the forum.
Firstly, glad your daughter is safe, it must have been an ordeal for her.
Secondly, I don't think it's a case of too many people having the same problem.
Most of the battery issues were not connected with total power loss while driving, I think maybe 2 or 3 have had it happen over the years I've been on here.
None the less it's still something that Ford should investigate, but they won't.
I would wait until you get the report from the garage (is it a Ford dealer?) before anything else. Make sure that they have updated all the software before taking it back.
Would I want to drive it again? Only once the report is in and the problem has been fixed. If they can't determine the exact cause of the issue then I would be wanting to move it on.
Let us know what they say.
