Hi,
I have a 23 ST 1.5 Manual with DAP and PP, when doing full lock turns left or right there is a horrible grinding / squealing noise. It only appears to have started within the last week and is completely random, sometimes it doesn't do it, sometimes twice in the same day, haven't reached out to a dealer yet because of Christmas etc.
Is this the beginning of the infamous steering column problem?
I am quite mechanically minded, nothing obvious looks wrong underneath / in the wheel areas.
Loud Noise when Turning
Okay done a bit further looking, and it appears the bottom of the strut is rubbing when on full lock? There is metal shavings where the wire is bolted to.
The marks are on both driver and passenger sides, trying to find a similar angle from parts on ebay and doesn't look like this should be rusty?

What was the outcome of this? My wife’s 2023 Puma also making a noise when steering. Only front right wheel grinding when turning right on full lock.
