In the last week or so I've noticed the occasional creaking sound from under the rear of the car when parked. Car is on a flat level surface. Is it just the suspension cooling after a drive? Is that even a thing?

Could be the handbrake. Try leaving the car in gear or chock a wheel and leave the handbrake off. Don't forget the video even if it's sound only.

I'm guessing it may be the handbrake. Mine creaks more loudly than any other car I have had in nearly 50 years of motoring.
