You can only try them. Car showing a battery warning. Could lead to a breakdown. You've paid for this service for the first year as part of your purchase.

Other than that. Pull the fuse and isolate the camera. Take the car for a good run lto recharge the battery.

There's no way you should need to charge your battery.

Battery isolation is a safety feature designed to protect your battery from deep discharge. Mine slept through lockdown when there was period of about 2 weeks when I did not start the car.

My best guess is that your dash cam is not isolating and is draining your battery, perhaps wired to a permanent live.

Traced the fault to the parking mode adapter on the dash cam, ( blackvue power magic pro) looks like it wasn’t switching off, even turning off the unit wouldn’t turn off the indicator light on the unit, now it’s failed completely and won’t turn on, checked the wiring and it’s all installed correctly so have emailed blackvue for a replacement, so have no parking mode on the dash cam for the moment..

So the dash cam was keeping the vehicle 'alive' and after period of time the 'system off to save battery' message was coming?

Heavily depleting a lead acid battery is not a problem so long as you recharge within a day or two. Any longer and they start to sulfate, shortening their life.

Well I’m not sure now if the cameras park mode adapter is the cause, atm I’ve got the camera plugged into the cigarette socket, this doesn’t switch off straight away when the ignition is turned off, and, I think somebody on here said it stays powered for about 30min, I still occasionally get the message I’m now wondering if the cars system is looking for something draining the battery, ie, if you have accidentally left something plugged in and it detects that the ignition is off and the car is locked, so it shuts down to save the battery, I’m grasping at straws now as I’ve no idea what’s causing this..

I'm not clear on when you're noticing these 'system off to save battery' messages. Are they on the sync screen when you return to a locked car?

Yes it’s on the sync screen, in fact, I think someone posted on the detailing thread and you can see the message on there

Right, it's on the sync, but when are you seeing it? On returning to a locked car?

Yes, on a morning I was noticing that I couldn’t unlock the passenger door when I held it ( keyless) but the drivers side was ok, the message appeared on the sync screen but the car started and ran ok, when I got to work, 9 miles away) I would sit for five minutes listening to the radio, sometimes the radio would shut down and the message would appear, again, the car wouldn’t unlock, passenger side, but drivers was ok, I have a smart battery charger and would connect it to this and charge overnight, it would then be ok for about 4 days before having a repeat performance, initially I thought it was the power magic pro ( blackvue) not cutting off at the set ( 12v) but I’m not sure, having checked the battery voltage it’s now at 11.9v although I didn’t start the car, I’ve had it to my local ford garage and he checked the battery and said it was ok, I’m thinking of taking it to a proper battery specialist and see what they say
