My wife has had a 1.2 Ford KA since 2012. It’s a 2010 model and had 25k on it when we bought it. It’s just topped 50k which means she’s averaged about 2500 miles a year. It never goes in long runs. Maybe out of town shopping once a week, which is about 25 miles return.
Just checked this morning and it’s still averaging 43.4 mpg. It was 44.5 before E10.
Fiat 500 based. Fiat engine I think. Ford suspension though, which makes it a better drive than the 500.
We keep thinking about an EV for her as we have solar panels. Anyone had a Zoe or an older Leaf? Any good? I’m always wary of buying a second hand EV.
Mind you at £30 a year car tax and no issues with MOT’s I’m not sure if it’s worth the expense for 2500 miles a year (I guess I could use the EV more around town).

Thought I would try some hypermiling on yesterday's commute.
130 miles of A roads with a couple of city centre stops on the way E10 fuel as well, so pleasantly surprised.
Normally hit around 50mpg on that run.

That is impressive! I got 454 out of a tank, showing 18 left to empty recently. 350 miles was motorway, 2 adults plus luggage. Rest A and B roads and local town / city driving. Assume mpg will improve with more miles though? Only got 1500 on clock at mo.

Got 52.9 on a 41 mile journey to Leeds and back yesterday. All in Sport and not hanging about on the A road(70mph) and the outer ring road in Leeds (40mph).
Happy with that.
