Auto Express:
Review 4/5

Summary:
The all-new Ford Puma SUV has the potential to really shake up the well stocked compact crossover class. Some rather drab-looking dashboard and interior materials disappoint, but in other areas it’s punching to be the best car of its type. It’s good to drive, and one of the most practical models in this highly competitive segment, too. We can’t wait to test one in the UK; even with a surfeit of new rivals – and those rather divisive looks – Ford appears to be onto a winner with the Puma.

Auto Car:
Summary:
It’s moderately enjoyable, in fact. But let’s not get carried away. A week before driving the Puma, I hired a boggo 2016 Fiesta 1.25, and despite not all of its wheels being entirely round, it was absolutely terrific fun in a way that this crossover – any crossover – is not. But that’s where we are.

While Ford was getting the Ecosport so wrong the first time around – and with its second try at it, still not quite satisfying those moving over from regular hatchbacks who wanted something not-weird – enough competitors had missed their chance to put a mark on the class, leaving the opportunity open for someone.

Belatedly, convincingly enough, Ford has taken it.

What Car?:
Review 5/5

Summary:
With its agile cornering and surprisingly nippy performance, the Ford Puma will put a bigger smile on your face than any other small SUV. But it’s a car you can buy with your sensible hat on, too, thanks to its low CO2 emissions, excellent real-world fuel economy, a clever boot and attractive monthly PCP costs.

Top Gear:
Review 7/10

Summary:
Ford's previous form in crossovers is a bit spotty. Spoiler alert: this one's a good 'un
If it had been launched a year earlier the Puma would have been the no-brainer choice in the class. But it’s got some handy new rivals: second-generation Juke, Captur and 2008, plus the VW T-Cross.

Even so, it’s an impressively rounded thing. Its combination of an interesting engine, strong cornering and dignified ride are hard to match in the class, and the interior is cleverly versatile as well as nicely furnished.

Telegraph:
Review 5/5

Summary:
Good enough to be crowned Car of the Year? We think so.

Car:

Summary:
The Puma is a distinguished newcomer in an undistinguished class, and ticks the usual boxes with a flourish each time. Ford’s crossover is the most fun to drive, extremely eye-catching and packing a really sweet powertrain if you stump up for a mild-hybrid.

To me, a small-SUV is a contradiction in terms: either enjoy the superior agility and frugality of a supermini, or upgrade to a bigger SUV if you need genuine spaciousness and versatility. Simply put, the Puma is as good as it gets in the world of B-SUVs.
