Yes and no really, the Mk1 RS was brilliant, but had terrible torque steer. The thing is with these cars, they are a nightmare to leave any place and for the Mk1 RS parts are impossible to find now.
Okay if your just gonna take to shows. Believe it or not the Puma ST isn't a million miles away in size and performance but on a different level when it comes to handling.
For the RS Turbo S2 yes again brilliant but try sitting in one now.. it's tiny, awful switch gear compared with today's cars and only 137bhp. Some up rated ones that I have driven, have even worse torque steer. Best ever car was the Escort Cossie. I had one for just a few weeks, it was stolen under my nose. All RS cars are fantastic and some worth a fortune now, but hey you just can't use the older ones everyday now. Not forgetting the new E10 fuel which may be a problem for cars older than 2002.

I had an Astra get 16v which was tuned to 204 bhp which isn’t much now but back then it was quite a lot. Cars were a lot smaller/ lighter then and it was quick but not worth the money your fords would be today,

I'll try but not today. The cars are near enough but motorhomes and motorbikes need sorting.

Some further detail on my list: Austin A40 Devon was 1951 model, Morris Minor 1953, Ford Consul 1958. The NSU Quickly was mid fifties vintage as was the James 150. The Ariel Leader was 1961 I think. The motorhomes started with the Bedford CF Deauville 1980, The Swift Kontiki's from 1987 to 1993. Then came the American Damon RV in 1995 followed by the Auto Trail Chieftain in 1998 which was the last one. All except the first were brand new costing us a fortune over the years from 5 grand to 55. All except the Bedford were turbo diesel 2.5L to 6.5L for the Chevrolet V8. The other campers were fill-ins whilst waiting for new builds. We lived in motorhomes on a permanent basis from 1990 until 2004 by which time we had achieved everything we set out to do. This included travelling through most of Europe from Norway to Portugal and France to Hungary and all countries in between. We capped all of that in 1997 by shipping our RV from Amsterdam to Baltimore to begin a 10 month tour of the USA. We visited every state except Alaska and also briefly took short trips into Mexico and Canada. Could write a book on our exploits including plenty of mishaps but mostly great times. Out West is not to be missed. Utah, Nevada and Arizona among the highlights. For the most part fantastic people too. Anyway, enough for the moment. I'll try and remember some further adventures later.

In order:

998 cc Mini 1963. Wide wheels, big bore. Paid £80. Ran it two years and sold it for £35. Then the alternator packed up so I knocked £2.50 off.

Ford Cortina MK 3. Nice motor with vinyl roof. Ran two years then traded in for..

MGB Roadster 1973 Harvest Gold. Still my fav. Only sold it when I got married due to needing more room.

Ford Capri 1.6 GL Mk 2. White with black vinyl roof. Sold due to moving house and needing funds.

Honda Civic 1275 twin SU Carbs. Fast little bugger that I bought off an old bloke.

Ford Cortina MK 4 GLS. Rust bucket but nice drive.

Mini 1000. Traded in the rust bucket and bought a Cat C (unknown). Ran well and took us everywhere but “crabbed” on the road.

Toyota Corolla 1.0. Bright yellow and the slowest car in the U.K. I think.

Toyota Corolla 16v. Much quicker until the cam belt snapped.

Ford Sierra. Moving back to decent motors now.

Company Rover 214s Liked these. Pretty quick too.

Different Company Rover 214s.

Company VW Bora. My first and last VW. Nice motor.

Company Vectra 1.9 diesel SXI. Lovely car that I ran until early retirement.

MG ZS - bought off eBay. Great car to drive. Sold to a guy for his wife and he ended up letting her drive his Jag.

2004 Focus CMax Ghia. Nice car. Back to Ford.

2008 Focus MK 2

2013 Focus Zetec 1.0 ecoboost

2016 Focus 1.5 diesel Titanium - still on my drive awaiting the trade in ASAP. DVLA holding things up.

I think that’s it apart from one special mention for my wife’s MGZR. Loved driving this and we ran it for eight years before giving it to our son.
