The Sierra really was controversial, I loved the look as it looked futuristic but the neighbours (who had a late model cortina) weren’t so impressed. I can’t think of a recent new car that caused a similar stir or such strong options? Maybe the Puma to a lesser degree?

I think the Focus caused a similar stir as it replaced the Escort. I really liked the MK1 Focus and I owned one for about 8 years.

I did a list quite a few years ago on another car forum as I’ve always been a petrolhead. I thought I was getting on a bit but some of the cars listed are well before my time or even my dad’s time

I’ll never remember all the cars so I’ll list some of the more interesting ones going back about 25 years. Prior to that it was mainly Fords including about 3 Orion Injection Ghia’s, an XR3i, Granada Scorpio 2.9i and Sapphire 2.0i Ghia 4x4.

Sort of date order from what I can remember

1995 Mondeo 2.0si (think it was called si)
1995 BMW 540i V8 Sport Touring
1998 Toyota Powervan (first brand new vehicle)
2000 MR2 Roadster new
2001 Lexus IS200 Sport new
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L
2000 BMW 330 Coupe Sport
2002 Mini Cooper S new
2002 Porsche Boxster S new
2003 Mazda RX8 new
2003 VW Golf R32 new
2003 Audi Avant QS new
2003 Renaultsport Clio 172
2004 Porsche Boxster 550 Spyder new
2001 BMW M3 Convertible
2003 VW Touareg 3.2
Divorce
2003 Audi S4 Avant AMD Stage 3 (loved that car)
2005 Renaultsport Clio 182 new
2005 Yamaha R6 new (divorce and midlife crisis)
2004 VW Golf R32
2005 Renaultsport Clio V6 MK2 (wish I still had that)
2001 Audi TTR 225
2002 Mini Cooper S
2003 BMW 325i Sport
2004 Audi Avant 3.0 QS
2005 VW Polo Dune (great little run around)
2006 Audi S4 Avant
2006 Audi A3 Quattro S-Line
2005 Audi TTR 3.2
2006 Renaultport Clio 182
2007 Honda CB600R
2005 Mini Cooper S Convertible
2008 Renault Clio 197
2009 Mazda 3 MPS
2009 Mazda MX5 Sport Tech Roadster
2006 Mercedes CLS500
2003 Mercedes SL500
2009 Vauxhall VXR8 6.2 LS3 new (what a noise with added Wortec)
2005 Audi A8
2010 Audi A5 S-Line Convertible
2013 Renault Clio 200T
2013 Audi A5 Black Edition
2014 Peugeot RCZ GT new
2015 Mini JCW (pretty much every option including JCW pro exhaust etc, great fun)
2014 Audi Q5
2017 Audi S5 new
2016 Mercedes AMG A45
2019 Volvo V90 CC T5 new (big comfy bus)
2018 BMW M4 Competition Convertible
2016 Mini Cooper SD (still got)
2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder (first 200+ mph car and hopefully not the last, still got)
2020 VW T-Roc R new (still got)
2022 Ford Puma ST Performance (due imminently)

There’s been a lot of cars prior to this and a fair few in between and some I’ve probably forgotten but mostly more regular models. My first car was a Mini Clubman which I loved and had the usual boy racer type stuff and I passed my test in. My second was a Fiat 127 1300GT which was a lot more modern than the Mini and thought was really fast at the time when I was 17 :D

No, my current Puma is not on the list. Trying to drum up conversation as to what other members have been driving. As Sparks says, a lot of the original posters have moved on.

Yes thats fair enough, and trying to drum up conversation is a good thing. :)
I was just initially confused about reposting something from 3 years ago with no stated reason other than its age, thats all. :)

Regarding your list are the cars in order of your ownership?
I ask because there is a step back of a few years from Sierra to Datsun 120Y then both Celicas.
