My new Puma will, hopefully, be arriving mid June.
Given my age (!) I'm planning on hanging on to the car for 7 or 8 years.
I'm considering going to a car detailer and giving the car a ceramic protection procedure . Never even knew that was a "thing" until joining this forum, so apologies if my terminology is inaccurate.
Cost will be around £500.
I would be grateful for any comments as to the procedure. I'm sure the car will look fantastic afterwards, but long term are there any other benefits ?

Plenty of videos on YouTube giving full details and the different types of applications.

Yes, but I'm not going to do it myself. The question really, is , is it worth £500 + VAT for someone else to do it for me ?

I wasn't referring to you doing it yourself, watch some videos anyway to get some idea of different finishes and longevity. I think the more you pay the longer it lasts. There are various plans from one to four years with maintenance in between.

I had my Fiesta done and then her indoors 208gti. Both cars fully detailed first and then ceramic coated . Water beads instantly . Car will still get filthy but washes up real easy .
I'd recommend it . Cost me 300 GBP for a 2 year protection .
Thinking about trying Lanoguard for the underside next .

I had mine done two and a half years ago for a very similar price and don't regret it. Water still beards and it still looks very shiny on the few occasions I give it a really good clean

I had mine done ready for collection on offer for £150, yes I could have done it cheaper but in the big picture I just said yes and I’m glad I did because it does make the difference on keeping it clean and washing it! Magnetic grey btw 👍🏻
