Good point but I find it very useful to keep in touch with friends at home and abroad. We also own a house in Turkey and social media, FB especially, has been a godsend.
I remember when we bought it 19 years ago we could not get any info at all between visits. Now I can talk to neighbours and friends over there, see pictures of the house when the cleaner or painter goes in and we even had an offer to buy it via FB a few weeks back (which we accepted).
So - yes it can be a bore and addictive for some but for others its a lifeline at times.

Twitter seems to have less of the younger element on board. Can still be nasty and a lot of aggression. My main use is for sports info. Next to nothing on Pumas. I do follow TC Harrison though.
