A sticker on the rear windscreen of a new car that says:- RUNNING IN, PLEASE PASS
Yes I know I'm showing my age and the young uns won't have a scooby what I'm on about
Things you don't see today
That's true, though I do drive very gently for the first thousand miles when I get a new car even though the manufacturer says there is no need to. It's not just the engine that needs running in, being careful for 1000 miles helps your brakes to bed in gently and that goes for the whole drive train too.
It's a very long time I'm since I saw a "running in please pass" sticker.
Something else I never see is hand signals other than the occasional v-sign given by ignorant prats.

As opposed to the hothead and company car drivers who have....
"Run in. Try and pass!"

Edit... forgot to say, I had taken out a 3 year bank loan for the Mk 1 that I trashed after 2 weeks. One big painful lesson learned right there.

I remember when you could work on your car with more space around the engine than what the engine actually took.
Good Times.....
