What are people views on tuning boxes?

TDI-Tuning do a plug and play for the new Puma.

Theres 2 options, a 125 and a 155 in line with the lineup.

The 125 box increases the HP to 154 and NM to 258NM.

The 155 box increases the HP to 191 and NM to 295NM.

Both with a potential 20% fuel increase.

I've spoken to the guys at TDI and as there is no hardware difference between the 125 and 155, they would be prepared to tune a 125 box to the same output as the 155 box.

Anyone interested? I know I will be once I've bedded the engine in, as those numbers are serious figures!

Never really considered it on any car, not really into voiding my warranty on a brand new motor. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Touche - me neither but what draws me to it is the plug and play - once removed leaves no trace.

That being said, I am happy with the current output so we'll see.

Personally I'm going to wait until we start seeing how they perform after long term use before I try it on my own Puma

I think it depends on lease or owning. I guess I'd be worried about long term damage to say engine components, brakes, gearbox etc.
But (And I appreciate this may not go down well) if you lease it all that will be someone elses problem in 3 years time.

I had my TDI tuning box from Focus 125 1.0L reprogrammed for the Puma, I asked for up to 153 or 191, but they haven't said which. Been out today and can't decide. I will put it up to setting 7 and see in Sport Mode. I position 4, it is very nippy indeed, fuel consumption is same.

I have contacted TDI tuning, and my box is reprogrammed to 153, it is unbelievable in Sport and position 7, easy plug & play.
