That's a quick response, who is your dealer if you don't mind.

Not the best start 🙈
I had this problem yesterday, ended up with 12 charging fault alert. Had to jump start the start and charge enough to get to dealership. Having a new generator installed tomorrow

Never had a charge fault show up. Hope the new generator sorts it for you.

Its been fitted but then they noticed that the cabin interior light will not turn off now and theyre replacing that.......might end up with a Trigger's Broom by the end of the week

I think I might be looking at a non hybrid because of all this battery business

It’s not the hybrid battery that’s the issue though.

I’m not sure how the non hybrid charges. Is it a simple alternator? If so then I assume you think it might be the generator causing the issue? It could very well be that.

I've got no issues with this Battery Business so you can have mine in 2 years if you can live without fancy options. :D

A replacement battery is £100. And the MHEV at least makes up a little for the missing cylinder and 1000cc.

So got my Puma back with replaced generator. According to the hybrid gauge, the "boost" kicks in at such a lower speed than i was getting previously. This should have an improvement my mpg, around 45mpg atm. Will have to report back after a couple of hundred

Dealership found an issue with cabin light, new console fitted (above the rear view mirror) but that didnt work. Tech specialist is away this week and will need to organise taking it back in to look ----- cabin light disabled so not to drain the battery

I’ve had my Puma less than a week and I’m getting system shutting down to save battery messages. Checked battery voltage and it was 12.02V which is low. Started the car and the voltage went straight to 14.7V which is bad ( the voltage should increase slowly) Charge current was over 30A initially, which is good, and slowly decreased to just under 10A over a period of about 5mins, which is ok.
With engine off, battery was discharging at 3.5A, which is a lot. This dropped to 1.3A after a few minutes, still too much.
The way the battery voltage came straight up to 14.7V when the car was started, tells me the battery has a problem. I’ve now got to try and convince Ford to replace it.

I've had my Puma ST Line X for 3 months and covered 3,000 miles. I use the car most days but it shows going to sleep to save the battery every morning when I start it up. I've checked the in car diagnostic menu twice and the battery showed as 11 6 and 11.4 volts respectively. It's a Wombat battery even though it was built in March 2021 and delivered in June 2021. I'm not expecting the battery to last the winter to be honest and I shouldn't need to charge a battery on a new car that is used nearly every day. I rarely go out at night and only been out in the rain twice, so I'm not using much electrical power. It's getting a decent run most days with little electrical load.
