Engine note
Could it be the “Engine sound enhancer”?
(Not sure if it’s all models)

Yes, I was thinking this the other morning, I was in normal mode without music on etc, it sounded very growly, I had a focus ST previously & I’m sure you could turn the sound enhancer off or down, although I never did, as it sounded a lot better in the focus.....
I don't find the engine growly on long journeys at all.

I think you can turn it off in Forscan...
Or, the old way was to disconnect the tube from the enhancer and stuff a sock up it.....Haven't looked at the location in the Puma, but, may still be possible..

All manufacturers use them, they just make the engine in the cab sound better (supposedly) by amplifying the sound into the cab, sometimes through the speakers.
We had a thread on it here.....viewtopic.php?t=567
I think we established that only the ST-Line X was fitted with one..... I haven't looked in mine, I'll list it for jobs after the storm passes.

Well, I had no idea. What a bizarre notion. Why the heck would anyone want the engine noise to be more obvious? Clearly, the grey suits in Ford's marketing division seem to think they do. I will watch this thread with interest, and I would certainly inhibit this feature if it is switched on, and it's something I can do - or get the dealer to do.
