Hi everyone.
Has anyone had their puma in for a convenience check?
If so how much did it cost and what did it involve.
Many thanks.
convenience check
Not had it for the Puma, but did it on my Fiesta Active previously....Costs around £40...Is it worth it?....Well, it renews your Ford Assistance package for another year, so, guess that pays for itself.
It's basically a visual check of all the fluid levels, brake pads tyres, etc. etc. You also get a diagnostic check for any software downloads that may be available.
If they actually do that (you can check with the dealer) then, on the Puma, it's probably worth it.
It's not necessary, but, Your choice.

You said it costs around £40, but the website states it's £115, at which point its cheaper to get breakdown cover elsewhere (even one of the big 3). You can check levels and software updates yourself generally, can't you? Or if you aren't having issues, wait for the 2yr service.Sparks wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 9:37 pm Not had it for the Puma, but did it on my Fiesta Active previously....Costs around £40...Is it worth it?....Well, it renews your Ford Assistance package for another year, so, guess that pays for itself.

Yeah it's £115. I'm not bothering. Ford have put a 2yr service interval in place and so be it. If you are capable of checking your fluid levels the you are wasting your money.
The only thing I would consider is an oil service. This will depend on oil life remaining in Feb. I'm hoping to be out of the car before first service.
Not all Ford dealers offer the continued assistance option. Be ensure your dealer participates before booking.

Really? Check around dealers.

I agree that if it's the standard price, it's probably not worth it.

For somebody like me with low mileage the standard Ford Protect plan appears to be really good value. Unfortunately they don't do a 3 Year 1 Service Plan. but only a 3 Year 2 Service Plan at £439.
2 Year 1 Service - £239
Includes convenience check at 12 months, first service at 2 years or 18000 miles, brake fluid change at 2 years plus 12 months roadside assistance to be added by the dealer at the convenience check and first service.

There are quite a few dealers doing it at that price. It's only a visual check. then plug the laptop in to update and it's out the door (just the job for the apprentice). If they find anything it's all extras.Wdf76 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:41 amBlimey, I'd book in now in case that's a typo....Sparks wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 9:55 am Really? Check around dealers.

The Roadside assistance will probably cost them nothing as they have a contract with the AA and it's probably a fixed price one regardless of the amount of cars. I doubt they are called out too many in the first three years of ownership.
