Mudflaps
Yeah, I know, door seal fine, nothing getting past it, plenty of dirt accumulation on the exposed areas, rear wheel/door arch seems worse. I always give those areas a good blast with the Kärcher. Haven’t seen any paint issues yet, I’ll have a closer inspection tomorrow. A concern of mine is the drainage holes becoming blocked.

We had mud flaps included as part of the deal with our local franchise.
The flaps are smaller than you might think but do help to keep the sides of the car cleaner...
Be aware that the fitting requires glueing to the bodywork (STlineX version) and fitting by the dealer took one and a half hours (to allow drying time).

Amazing how they charge you for 'Drying time'.... Not as if the technician is doing anything other than the car in the next bay.DesertIslandBlue wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 6:46 pm We had mud flaps included as part of the deal with our local franchise.

I fitted the mudflaps myself they are not difficult to fit. There is an adhesive strip on them it takes a grip as soon as you fit it. I dnt think they need time to dry, the clips hold them in place. I wouldn't give the dealer the money to fit them.

Where did you buy the mudflaps from?
Did you have to remove the wheels so you could get access to the area you fitted the mudflaps?
Any suggestions to anyone who is going to fit the mudflaps themselves?

I'm lazy and in this weather I'll pay the £127.35 fitted.

Hi, how much drilling is required and did the wheels have to come off to do it properly.Jawmcneill55 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:07 pm I fitted the mudflaps myself they are not difficult to fit. Just had mudflaps fitted on my new ST Line X this morning by the main dealer in York - took nearly one and a half hours ! Methinks it would have taken me much longer myself - let's hope they work and deflect some muck !
