Sport mode is brilliant. Yes it disengages stop start but the drive and response from the car is so much better.

I’ve tried Eco too and on the right type of run it seems ok. Basically it just reduces the throttle response though and can seem as if the car has gone a bit squidgy.

Not really used Trail or Slippery yet.
Eco mode shuts down one of the cylinders so you are travelling with a two cylinder engine so saving fuel.

I thought that happened in any drive mode when the car deems it necessary. It’s part and parcel of the ecoboost engine.

It probably does, but AFAIK Eco gives you the choice to run it permanently as a two cylinder.....That said, I'm probably wrong as what ever is under the bonnet is still generally a mystery to me... ;)

I had no idea it did that permanently when you select eco mode. I’ve looked but can’t see it mentioned anywhere in the blurb.

Yeah, think it's only when conditions are met. Pancake flat, low load, steady cruise etc. It's imperceptible, you'd never know. Doubt it's permanent in any mode.

Hi Mike, I pressed the button 3 times on the test frive and it felt good. The winter park is just heated seats and steering wheel.
Called the comfort pack when I specced mine, I got it for the wife but the heated steering wheel is nice when it’s cold.
If I was more patient I would have read more of the thread and seen that some one else had already made the comment about the comfort pack.

Thanks for the interesting comments guys. There still seems a bit of mystery around what the different driving modes actually do to the car and the engine. I would have thought that ford would have made it clearer.

Anything else I need to know about the car, the things you have found out since getting yours, the things you found in your first month or two of driving, etc?

I took the dashcam out of my B Max yesterday which was hardwired to an ignition controlled fuse. Can anyone who has wired a camera into the Puma (or with knowledge of electrical systems) tell me which fuse socket is best to use?

Thanks for that. I found that thread just after I posted. A long one but very helpful indeed. Fuse 2 mentioned a few times along with cable routing and earth connection. Looks like the Fiesta, Focus, B Max and Puma fitting are all similar, so as I took it out of a B Max, it should go back into the Puma exactly the same.
