Didnt want then doing any other updates as sometimes it can mess things up even more!!

Took my st line x in today because the speed sign recognition system is so poor only to be told no updates available. The dealer told me there was no fault and the system is a bit temperamental.
Not good enough I think

Dealers wording is possibly correct, there is no fault as such. However there is a software update that appears to make it more accurate.

Perhaps you could forward your dealer a link to this site. As others appear to have had the recognition software updated successfully.

You can check on Ford ETis is there a module software update if you set up an account

Or you could PM someone that has an account with your Reg Number and they can check

Yep, despite the service department first of all saying nothing wrong, it works fine for them, went via Ford CRC, got them to identify there was an issue, had the module updated and all now works so much better. On ETIS it’s listed as IPMA, image Processing Module A.

Just booked mine in for them to take a second look at this fault (told them there’s an update showing on Etis for IPMA)
Stopped working twice today and just sat on “30” until I stop the car, switch it off open the door and lock the car. Then when I restart and move off again it works fine

My problem with the speed recognition camera has a twist. It works perfect when the car is travelling south, going north it's stuck on 30 all the way. Local dealer says no software update so not interested

Is it supposed to pick up every road traffic sign. In the short drive I've had in it I've noticed it definitely picks up speeds signs and changes instantly..

The system is designed to detect traffic signs to inform you of the current speed limit and overtaking regulations. Detected traffic signs appear in the information display. The sensor is behind the interior mirror.

The system detects recognizable traffic signs, for example:
Speed limit signs.
No overtaking signs.
Speed limit cancellation signs.
No overtaking cancellation signs.
