I'm getting 54 mpg average, only 360 miles on the clock, this is a commute of 40 miles, and 150 mile wee run.
This is better than my Focus 1.0 L EcoBoost by far.

It's very much dependent on what type of driving you do (Urban etc), how you drive, what mode you have it in, etc etc.
I wouldn't sweat on 38 if city driving and I also wouldn't rely entirely on the cars estimates.
The best I've had (according to the car) is 66mpg on an experimental run driving like miss Daisy was in the back.
I do a lot of city driving and it goes from around 37 to 45 depending on route.

With a variety of motorway and urban over the last 1000 miles I've averaged 37mpg. Always in sport and a mix of steady and quick little blasts, I think it's great. Similar driving in my last car (mini cooper S) I was getting around 32.
I agree colder weather hits my fiesta that hits 53mpg apart from winter when dips to 48Mph
My ST Puma hits at mo 38mph but 41 in warmer times, I do like sport mode too but winter, I rake it in on normal then fun on sunny dry days in Sport but depends on that right foot lol , did have a spurt in sport today knocked me down a little but eh ST just makes me smile in that mode
I always put super unleaded in as the other stuff just evaporates.
