Maybe you should also specify that one should have it only if one has the Bang & Olufsen speakers. Or is there a surround button with standard speakers also?

True, but there’s a lot of global variations. At the moment, I’m keen to follow up with Ford as to why some have and some don’t despite identical car spec.

Yes there is, my dealer installed it for me, once I'd told him about it and he checked with Ford.
That said, the system is not as good as it was in the Fiesta Active I had....Not worth an extra trip, get them to do it at a service maybe...

I have surround and I tried it both off and on. Surround was much better with improved spacial separation as I was expecting. It's a very nice system, though I don't use it a lot of the time.
