What's the process for having the plastic door bottoms repainted under warranty?
I've noticed 2 of mine are flaking on the inside which can be seen with the doors open - not drastic yet but they'll only get worse.
Do you just book it in with the service dept or have to take it to an approved bodyshop?
Any idea how long they'd need the car?
Car is 9 months old so might wait until its 1st service in 3 months which is when i'll have the recall done as well?

I took mine back to the dealer and let them sort it out after giving them a quick phone call. It did go to their approved body shop who gave me a courtesy car while it was being fixed. Took about 5 days.

Did they remove the bottom trims and repaint them?
5 days seems a bit excessive - how old was your car as i know corrosion warranty is 10 years but not sure on cosmetic?

The bottoms of the x4 doors were not removed and were repainted. I stipulated no rush anyway as I had fuel in the tank to burn and the dog needed the vets, so would rather use the courtesy car ;)

Mine’s been back three times for this doing. To be fair to Ford they have said they will sort them under warranty but since the last touch up thry seem fine.

So now I’m in a quandary. Do I leave it as it is or have the car off the road for a few days to fix something that now seems fine?

I think I’ll try and “bank” it for now as the warranty has another 15 months yet.
