First long trip
I've had my Puma for 5 months and it has been trouble free. I haven't done a great mileage and my longest trip has only been just over an hour but I've just got back from a holiday in Scotland so the Puma had its first long run. It was a 900 mile round trip with about another 200 miles driving while I was up there. I couldn't believe how comfortable the Puma was compared to my previous Fiesta and my Mk2 Focus before that. The seats are so comfortable and the various driving aids helped to make a long drive less stressful. I wasn't too sure if I would make it up there on a full tank so I put some more in on our last coffee stop. On the way back down I knew I had quite a few filling stations in my last 50 miles if necessary as a back up so I decided to try and do it on one tankful (petrol was 10p/litre cheaper in Scotland than Norfolk). In the end it managed it with ease. We arrived home having done 430 miles and with it showing 60 miles to empty. I think the trip computer said it was getting 49.5mpg but the car was heavy with luggage. Overall I'm really pleased with my Puma and its comfort

@Vendee, I would agree, had a similar trip recently and the one thing you can't criticise the Puma for is comfort and spaciousness even for my 6'2" frame

it is nice to read a positive post , obviously owners who are having issues with their Puma are the most common topics on the forum and rightly so , but anyone considering getting a puma might get the impression that there are lots of problems with the car but in my experience with the car ( I've had two ) not one single issue, its not perfect but regarding MPG and comfort its hard to beat .
I agree, it’s a good long distance/holiday car and although more common now, I think all versions in all colours look better than most similar class cars on the road, hello to the Puma owner at Winchester services today who parked up opposite and had the extra same colour and model as me! Made me feel quite smug at my car choice!

Your Scotland trip sounds like the ultimate road test, and it passed with flying colors. I had a similar experience last summer when I embarked on a road trip through the Alps. I relied on db fahrplanauskunft to plan my route efficiently, just like you strategized your fuel stops. It's amazing how modern cars like the Puma can combine comfort, fuel efficiency, and reliability for those long hauls.
