Has anyone been able to update the sat nav using the method Ford suggest. That is to say, downloading the update from Ford onto your PC and then onto a USB. Then inserting the USB into the Puma etc. I tried many times a few weeks ago and kept getting an error message once I had inserted the USB into the car. I rang FORD customer service. A very helpful chap said my dealer would be able to sort out the problem. Booked it in. no mention of any cost. At the end of the day the car was in the dealership, I was told that it would cost £130 to sort this out. So said no thank you!!! I am about to try the Ford recommended method again using a USB. Problem is that the instructions say that you have to run the car continuously for 2 hours once you have put the USB stick in!! Any one with any experience of this approach?

I have updated twice using the USB method. It does take hours. I have updated F8 to F9. The last update F9 to F10 took two hours 30 minutes. Absolutely zero problems, don’t start unless you can finish or you could end up with a corrupted system!

Thanks Sinless. We don’t need another topic on the same subject……surely? 🤷‍♂️
