Car Tax

My car tax is due next month and I have a reminder for my 155bhp Mhev showing £155 for the year.

Then when I go to pay on line it shows £165.

I thought MHEVs were classed as alternative fuel vehicles and as such paid the £155.

Anyone else encountered this issue?

Seems very strange.

The ten quid increase doesn't bother me as much as the increase in fuel prices

I wouldn't mind if the money raised was spent on things that were advantageous to motorists.
Most of the transport budget these days seems to be spent to aid cyclists who don't contribute anything.

I have mine which I’m going to renew at the post office on Saturday, mine says £155, so I will see, it’s the 125 if that makes any difference
