How much softer is the ride on 17's?

Hi,

I have an ST Line X Vignale with the 19” wheels. Although I like the look, I find it road noisy and the ride harsh, so much so that I'm considering buying a set of 17's from an ST Line X for it. Has anyone driven both and can give an unbiased opinion please? (I believe the ST Line X has the same sports suspension setup as mine, where the Titanium is softer).

I know I'll lose a bit of handling but I don't tend to drive spiritedly much these days anyway, so I'd be happy to make the sacrifice.

TIA

I think the st line x has 18” on , mine is due soon with the standard 18” alloys on so will report back on road comfort , might be worth checking out a 17 “ set from st line if really after more comfort.

Ahh, so it's the ST Line that has 17's? I reckon if it's worth the hassle then I'll go down to 17.

I test drove an st line x and found the road noise quite bad on certain surfaces so I ordered mine on 18’s which are quieter and the ride iis fine.

Thanks guys. Our other car is a Hyundai Kona with 18’s which is a bit softer, hmmmm, food for thought 🤔

I found my ST Line X on 18" rims pretty good all round. Personally didn't appreciate the 19'" rims on a test drive, too noisy, but they did look better!

I don't have any problem with the 18's, remembering that the suspension set up is sports. Personally I prefer a firmer ride, but that said, no one has complained about feeling uncomfortable.
I don't think that anyone can really state if the 17's give a softer ride as they are on the Titanium which also has softer suspension. I haven't heard of anyone with the sports suspension running 17's.
