Hi My car is always in ten garage overnight. Coming back from swimming an orange symbol, came up to the left just above temp gauge. It was a road that narrowed towards the top and and a star at the. The first thing that came to mind, was something to do the temp being 2 degrees and saying care, icy roads. My Clio used to do that if 3 degrees and below. So went through the manual, nothing listed. Did a search, nothing, although did find a similar symbol listed for a focus for 2016. It seems obvious, that this is related to outside temp, but can't believe not listed. I ma sure, with the temperature dropping someone has seen this?
Thanks

Yes, it is a standard ice warning symbol. Very common this time of year :!: Time to put on the heated steering wheel and seats and maybe test out the Slippery driving mode.

Haven't tried slippery or trail mode yet. Has anyone used either that can report on how effective they are?

I think the orange warning comes on at 4°C or lowere and red at 0°C or lower, if I remember correctly - same as my last 2 or 3 Fords.

I'm sure I read that thanks to the EU warning lights can no longer turn red so I believe it stays orange to minus temps to

Slippery works quite well when there was a little slush and ice we had last year, but, we haven't had anything to really test it.

I used slippery mode for the first time in January this year. Car parked at Morrisons for an hour and returned to find a covering of snow. I engaged slippery and no problem. Very sure footed and no wheel spin. I did try a little. Gives some extra confidence but in icy conditions might be a different story.

I tried the trail whilst getting to a fishing lake this summer. It certainly felt more sturdy and sure footed.

Slippery I used once in really heavy rain and again it did feel as if the car was more sure footed.

I used slippery last winter after we had some snow, I thought the car was slipping ready to go into a slide until I realised it was picking out the white line in the middle of the road and was steering me back ( doing its job) , a bit unnerving in the snow/ slush so I turned it off , I felt a bit more confidence after that, my ice warning light never goes red, even at minus temperatures, my first fiesta did but I’m sure my second one didn’t, but I might be mistaken on that…
