Puma delayed again

Cool,i had a cavalier also,and 4 focus,im at present driving a fiesta mk8 1.0 litre ecoboost b and o play edition titanium,i want a puma next when they get cheaper

Hi All. As an OAP forum newbie, I've been reading this forum for several months after ordering my Ford Puma ST Line X Fantastic Red + driver assistance pack on the 1st Sep 2021 when I was advised by the dealer to expect a mid-December 2021 delivery date. Whilst last week (3rd Nov), my dealer advised me that as yet there was no news at all, and a build date had not yet been recorded, he was not able to provide an updated delivery date yet. After owning Ford cars all my life with several of my family working as Ford employees, I am nevertheless getting a bit excited about having a Puma, although I am unable to work out a clear pattern of how long current waiting times are. I therefore hope nobody will mind if I make a cheeky suggestion in this forum which might help people with delivery expectations. I know a few people do this already, but do you think it might be helpful to all member who provide either build or delivery updates, that at the same time as posting, they also remind us of their original order date, so we can quickly calculate possible delivery time scales. I hope nobody will be offended by me suggesting this.

I've also had Ford's for most of my life. Started off with a lovely Mk1 Escort which I rolled after 2 weeks and spent the next 3 years paying off the bank loan on it.... Painful. Then came a cheap Mk1 Cortina which I lent to a mate who then blew up the engine. There was a Mk2 Escort bought from auction in the dark and I didn't realise that it had a flash respray covering all the rust. There was a break when I had a Vauxhall Cavalier (nice car) then a brand new tax free Rover Montego TD. That starting rotting after 4 years so it was back to Ford with a Mk1 Mondeo TD then a Mk1 Focus 1,6, then Mk 2 Mondeo Ghia 2.0, then my Mk2 Focus 2.0 TDCi which I kept for 9 years/170k miles and I loved that. Sold that on with the original clutch and exhaust..... a very reliable and enjoyable car. Currently my wife and I each have a Mk7.5 Fiesta 125ps Ecoboost, both of which are being traded in against the Puma.

So my Puma was ordered on 16th June and built on 9th November. Delivery probably mid December.

Ordered 8 July. Build due week 47 - whatever that is - delivery 9 Dec. So dates are all over the place

Week 47 is 22 November so a 9 December delivery is a bit of a stretch I think but hopefully you get it before Xmas.

Hi everyone,
I placed an order for my Puma Vignale 155PS Auto with driver assistance. Order placed 8th August. Originally was given 29th October for build date. This was delayed to 12th November. This week I got another update from the dealer that it has been further delayed to 3rd Dec. Dealer stated that there shouldn’t be any further delay. Fingers crossed. Not really missing anything as I alreadt drive a Puma although it’s manual.

Awww no! Ordered 8 July - 155 ST-Line X, same colour, electric boot, driver assistance, winter pack. Supposed to be built within next 2 weeks. Delivery 9 Dec. Very much doubt it now.

Decision is wether to cancel or not. There are cars locally I can buy. If I cancel dealer will make a massive profit reselling it.

I've defected from the Seat Arona forum - after yet another turbo failure (two in three years) I have decided enough is enough ! So the Arona has to go.
I was going to buy a second hand, one year old Puma from a Sheffield dealer, owned by a TV presenter, but decided against it, when I realised I was going to pay just £100 less than the list price for a new model.
So, ordered from an online broker (£3000 cheaper than the second hand model) and have been quoted a March/April delivery date. Personally I will be delighted if I get it in April.
Interestingly, the broker said that the more expensive models had the longest lead times. I assume that it is more cost efficient for the factory to churn out the most popular Titanium models, with minimal specification differences, than produce the more expensive models, many of which will have specific buyer optional extras, which will slow down the production line.

Hi and welcome. Yes the higher spec cars have been taking longer to build, simply because they use more processing "chips" which we all know are in very short supply.

I was offered to chop my First Edition in for a new ST-Line X and the delivery time was 'estimated' April with no promise...Thought about it, but, I've no patience to wait and the new ST-Line X struggles to give everything the First Editions had on them, so, the swap wasn't worth the wait IMO.
As Vendee says, the higher the spec the harder to find the semi-conductors they need in any numbers.
