Having removed my Nextbase dashcam from my old B Max, I want to fit it to the Puma. I will position it to the left of the rear view mirror where it is not obstructing any cameras or sensors.
It looks like I can route the wire under the headlining and down through the rubber door surround through a small gap and into the fuse box.
I read on this forum that fuse 2 is a reasonable source of ignition based power supply, so will fit the jumper lead there. Not sure about earthing though but there seems to be an earth bolt that I can remove and pop the circular earth connection onto it.
Has anyone done this who can confirm that this is the best procedure as I am a bit worried about removing the bolt in case something is attached to the back of it.
I also note that the clips attaching the fuse box cover are somewhat flimsy and have already fallen off twice.
Thanks, Ian
Fitting a dashcam
Lots of info and pictures here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=280
I didn't mess about and simply paid Halfords £35 to fit it for me. That included the fitting kit Mind you I did buy my Nextbase from them a couple of years ago and still had the receipt.

Thanks guys, I did a forum search for 'dashcam' before posting and got nothing. Should have searched for 'dash cam'. A long read but a couple of good pics.
Camera and wiring now in place and routing the wires around the roof lining, down the door pillar and under the glove box into the fuse compartment was a doddle. Just waiting for the rain to stop now before popping the piggyback into fuse 2 and connecting to the earth bolt.

Sounds like a good tip Andi, I will give that a go. Looks like rain is set in for the day here and I have an engagement later, so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm not as flexible as I used to be and whilst my other Fords had the fuse box behind the glovebox at an easy height to fiddle with, this one is a long way down and back, but I will find a way even if I have to remove the glovebox (which I will need to do to get to the earth bolt).
Not quite sure how to get the glove box out at the moment.

I just find it incredulous that on a car (and not just the Puma) stuffed full of detectors, that they can't fit a miserable camera somewhere. Look Ford, I'll even pay for the MicroSD card ... there's even one at the back already, but I can't record.
2020 Puma ST-Line X Vignale 1.0L Ecoboost 125PS 7 Speed Auto - Black
Dashcam in position, wires channelled into the fuse box and the ballache of an earth connection now established. Unfortunately, the Puma uses micro2 fuses, whereas the B Max had larger ones, so I've just had to order a new piggyback connector.
Running the cam off of the USB for the time being.
And I thought this wouldn't take more than half an hour or so.
