Mine didn't. I chased every two weeks until one day they phoned and said it's just arrived, wanna collect it?
Took 1 month from ordering to collecting back in September 2020.

When at my Ford dealer one day (Scotland) some new cars had just been delivered from the compound used for Scottish dealers and they had a sticker in the windows showing their route into Scotland. From Dagenham they had been transported by train to Mossend Yard (outskirts of Glasgow) and from there into where ever the compound was, then by transporter from that compound to the dealer. How they got to Dagenham from Romania wasnt on that sticker just the UK train journey. Being of a certain age I found this really interesting information !!!!

I ordered on the Tuesday and picked it up on the Thursday from Evans H. quickest I've ever seen, also got decent trade in no haggling required 😁 luckily had one in stock 👍 just been out giving it it's first buff up this morning before the weather changes. 😎

I worked at Ford until retirement 8 years ago. In my last 3 years there I was involved with new vehicle logistics and pretty much dealt with all the modes of transport used to deliver to Ford dealers throughout the U.K Although procedures may have changed since I left, I am pretty certain that there are systems in place to identify the location of vehicles being built and beyond. New vehicles do not just turn up at dealerships they are carefully planned so I am afraid that the sales person in question is talking rubbish. For those of you who may be interested the route from Craiova, Romania where I believe all Pumas are built, is initially by rail to Vlissingen, Holland. Here they are stored before shipping to Dagenham by a daily ferry. Here they are assembled in loads and despatched on either Ford owned or contract car transporters. The dealers would be notified of which vehicles are on the load. The route mentioned earlier via Ireland and Liverpool is possibly a new route but entirely possible as the company that runs the Dutch compound and ferry service also sails to Ireland. There is a Ford compound at Liverpool that handles vehicles destined for the Midlands, North of England and Irish dealers.
I personally wouldn’t cancel my order if I really wanted a Puma as it is likely that it will become more difficult to buy new cars in the short term due to the global shortage of semiconductors with long shutdowns planned in car manufacturing. I would, however, ask to speak to the sales manager/director and explain how unhappy you are at being kept in the dark, etc.
All the best.

Thanks Blupuma
This is exactly the advice I was after
It just didn’t feel right having bought from VW, Audi, and Nissan in recent years all have been excellent in communication and delivery schedules
I know things are taking time but the total lack of communication is truly shocking!
Thanks
Nick
