Hi
My car seems to be on 2 year or 18k miles service intervals. I'll do about 9-10k miles per year, so it would fit just about perfectly. What's the consensus tho guys - should I get an oil change and a check over at one year old, or let it go until it's two?

Personally I'd never go more than a year without changing the oil in a car. Even more so if it's the first one, and had the new engine bedding in.

How long are you going to keep the car?

Yes, that's a point. If it's a 'finance car', soon enough to be a 'PCP handback', what's the point in changing it to benefit the next owner. I'd then change according the schedule.

My car will be going in for it's prepaid 12 month check later this year and it would make sense to have the oil changed at the same time.

If keeping the car change it, if not leave it unless Ford aren’t going to charge you much whilst they have it for its convenience check.

As I said in another recent post dealer quoted £131 for an oil and filter change plus extra for the convenience check.

Modern synthetic oils are good for 50,000 miles so you're wasting your money following 60s servicing routines. When did you last whip off the cylinder head for a quick de-coke?

Thanks guys,
I'll probably keep the car for 2-3 years, but might change my mind at any time lol.
My local Ford dealer quoted £105 for an oil change, £180 for 2nd year service, £280 for 4th year service.
What's with the pre-paid 12 month check or convenience check?
