Hi Everyone,
I've just bought a used 155 ST line x 1st edition without ever seeing a Puma in the flesh!
My 9 year old DS3 has just died on me and I need a car. Looking at reviews the Puma seemed like a good fit.
Ended up buying a Feb 2020 registered one from a dealer over 100 miles away. Only 1500 miles on the clock and it seemed like a good price.
The car should delivered anytime now. Can't wait!

I've got a 7 day return period, so I'm hoping for some advice as to what to look for when it arrives. From this forum I've heard about rattles, B&O surround sound and deep sleep issues. Anything else to check for?

Thanks,
James

Welcome along James

Sounds like you've got a deal, what colour is it?

Spend a bit of time in the faults section (sounds like you have already). We've seen a few quality issues, they will be different from car to car. There have been no major faults to speak of, as forum members we're probably the pickiest of owners.

Will you see it? Get to test drive it? Push the dealer for software updates if you can (traffic sign recognition is probably the most important for you to get full use of the pumas systems). After that it's just like buying any car.

@1500 miles it's just run in was it an ex demo, pre reg or privately owned?

Hope all goes well, feel free to ask any questions. We've covered a lot of ground on here.

Good luck with your new car, 1st edition has a few extras I believe.

I second that traffic sign recognition as it makes a difference. If you know the reg and want me to have a quick look to see what software updates are outstanding drop me a message.

It's the grey matter colour, one private owner.

I did ask for the car to be fully updated and was told that all cars they sell will have had the latest software uploaded. I wouldn't put any money on it! Thanks for the offer robgee, will drop you a DM.

I'll only see it once they deliver it to my door. The dealer did a video walk around when I showed interest and I did ask him to point out any cosmetic issues.
I have 7 days (250 miles max) to change my mind and get a refund. If I don't want it they'll collect it for free. So it's like a extended test drive. Probably better than pre-covid.

Would be great to take you up on this, but looks like I'm too new to be able to DM.

Welcome along James :) I'm sure you'll be scrutinizing it, when parked up at your home address.

Well my Puma was dropped off at 10pm on Friday.
It looks great in the flesh. Had a couple of trips for petrol and shops and it's really nice to drive. Dealership dropped it off with only 8 miles of fuel in the tank! How tight!
Was a bit surprised at the sound when I put it sport mode and put my foot down. Then found a few posts about the fake engine noise! Supprised that you can't turn it off.
Can't find any real faults with it yet apart from the rattles when you turn the volume up on a bass heavy tune.

Nice one, time to enjoy....
I'm guessing there may be a way to disconnect whatever in the engine bay amplifies the engine noise....Not sure where it is though.
This video is from 2016 but the Puma may have a similar system.

The other way some manufacturers do it is through the audio system. If this is the case then it may be you can control it via Forscan. (Another one for Rob). :)
