Hi everyone,

Just joined the forum. I took delivery of my new Puma about 4 weeks ago, 125 ps Titanium Auto dark metallic grey and I am very pleased with the car.

I have noticed like others how much dirt and road muck is getting in to the door seals, not a problem to wash out as I actually enjoy washing cars.

Just arrived is a set of mud flaps, hoping this might cut down the amount of road dirt getting in there.

Anyone out there fitted their own or do you think this will have to be done at the dealers?

Thank you

Welcome to the forum.
There are a couple on here that have fitted the mud flaps, I'm sure they'll be along with some advice sooner or later.

Welcome Derek, what kept you...😁

Welcome along. There's loads of info on here for you.

Mudflaps appear to do very little to prevent dirt getting up inside of the doors It's just a really poorly thought out piece of design.

Mine are that bad that the paint is coming off of the inside of all 4 doors, dealer is dragging its feet over a fix.

From what I've read the flaps are just glued and and clipped in place and should be a DIY fit. Perhaps clean with isopropyl alcohol to ensure the paint is spotless for a good bond.

Cheers.

Dark grey is gorgeous,I want either the dark grey or grey matter, but may be silver or black,if I cant find a titanium in that colour then may be a lucid red

Hi Derek.
I must have picked up my Puma at about the same time as you. 125ps ST Line X, Desert Island Blue.
I recently joined the forum also as it helped me when researching spare wheel options. I went for a breakers yard rim with I believe an R16 125/85 tyre. It just fits the 80l megabox.
I fitted mud flaps myself. I managed to do it without removing the wheels, though I suspect it would be easier if you did remove them. It took about 30 mins to fit each one but I was not trying to rush.
The rear were each fitted with 2 spring clips and 2 trim clips. 1 trim clip was a swap out with hole already in place. 1 required 9mm hole drilled in plastic trim.
I didn't bother with the 6mm screws that come with the set as flaps were already secure. There is some 3m type tape that also aids the fit.
The front were fitted with 4 spring clips and 1 trim clip that was a swap out with hole already in place and 3m tape. I did not use 2nd clip that would have required 9mm hole in plastic trim as again it didn't seem to need it.
The drilling into the plastic trim had me a bit nervous at first but was easy. I used an 8mm brad point wood bit.
Dealer had quoted £100 just to fit.

Thank you very much for that information about fitting the mud flaps. I was feeling uneasy to drill holes and whether I could do it without removing the wheels so this has given me some good guidance. I think I will wait for a nice dry day and take my time fitting them.

Thanks again
