Hi there to all the puma owners !
Just a quick introduction of myself to the forum . I took delivery of my 155 St line X first edition plus 3 weeks ago. Got it in grey matter and everybody that sees the car comments on the nice colour. The 19 inch wheels did it for me when I saw it in the showroom. Dont know what anyone else thinks but I don't think I would of bought it in the other style of alloy (personal choice I know ) I'm still working my way around all the gadgets but with having a fiesta st line mk8 previously most things are similar. I don't seem to have the hands free tailgate but not that bothered if I'm honest. I'm loving the intelligent cruise control but only use it for motorway driving and so far it seems to perform well. Also I like the braking of the car when going down hills when the regeneration is charging the battery. More noticeable in sport mode and this saves your brake linings. My previous fiesta was totally opposite and used to run away with you downhill even in second ! On the brakes constantly. Love the BLIS system . Like others have said I get the odd false alarm with the collision alert system particularly on bends where cars are parked stationary or if a car turns off in front of you but brakes never activated just an audible sound and flashing red alert on dash. Always wary of buying new build cars as things are bound to go wrong whilst they are ironed out in the future face-lift models. In fact my delivery of the car was delayed due to a recall which was to do with the driver airbag. Has anyone else had this recall yet? Apparently the steering wheel cover was not secured when the airbag was activated and was hitting the driver in the face . Its a ten minute fix which requires a spring to be fitted. All in all so far so good. Power is ample especially in sport!! More room all round than my fiesta which is why I changed it.
Nice to be in the Puma family and look forward to reading and engaging in posts.

Hello, welcome along. Glad you're finding everything ok. Sounds like you're on top of the cars functions etc.

If you have a first edition car then you should definitely have a hands free tailgate. There is a knack to it, and also a software update (dealer visit required) if it still does not work.

Most of the early cars, mine included, had the airbag recall before delivery.

Did yours come with comfort pack fitted?

Hi and welcome ,

I am sure other people will be around to say hi soon. The airbag recall affected a lot of us but it was on delivery times as Ford wouldn't release cars until it had been fixed.

It takes a bit of practice to use the hands free tailgate so would try when you have a spare five minutes when no one is looking as it does seem strange at first

Mine works a treat when no one else is looking. When they are...... It doesn't. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hi and welcome , the airbag issue was fixed on mine before delivery.
The automatic tailgate is something that requires trial and error , but you get the hang off it in the end.
Have fun with your new car !!!!

Welcome! I wonder who the unlucky sod was that had the airbag cover hit them in the face in a brand new Puma
Hopefully it was just found in further testing..

Thanks to all for your welcome messages. Unfortunately Wfd76 my car had no heated seats so no comfort pack. The car was in the showroom and I bought it as it was. I would have had to place an new factory order to get everything but I'm quite happy with it so I'll just have to put extra woolies on in winter lol. As for the hands free I just assumed that it wasn't fitted because I've tried numerous times with no luck. I can't even see anything that resembles a sensor under the bumper. But if you all say that if its a first edition plus it should work I guess I'll have to go onto the moors somewhere to hone my skills lol. Nice to hear also that most have had the recall issue sorted.
The only thing I need to get used to is locking the car via the handle because I'm not used to doing it but in my mind I know I don't need to use my key and have walked away without locking it lol. I can lock and unlock through the ford pass app though but I won't be using it but nice and gimmicky all the same. One final thing that I want to mention is torque steer especially in sport mode . Is this something you've all experienced? I was maybe thinking its because the tyres need bedding in but I've done 600 miles now and when you put the boot down you do get a pull on the wheel. Finally dont want to seem dumb but how do you reply to individual posts ? Not very savvy with tech. ๐Ÿ˜†
Thanks all once again.

You can disable the keyless operation if that makes you more comfortable. Just use the fob to lock/unlock as before. If the mirrors are folded in, the car is locked.

Yes, I too get a bit of torque steer. Normally in sports mode and pushing on. When you floor it you get full engine and hybrid boost.

I have the 18" rims with ecocontact tyres. Grip levels are not the best.

Stand a bit further away from the back of the car when trying to kick the tailgate open. Nothing will happen if it senses you're too close.
