Easy Fuel...not

So my new Puma ST arrived today with quarter tank of fuel. Took to Tesco to fill up and can NOT get nozzle to go in more than an inch so had to apologise to forecourt lady for the 8p of petrol I managed to put in. What a load of toss this system is. Anyone know why or how I can actually put petrol in my car? Is there some dumb H&S nonsense I have to perform to get it to work?

The first time I filled mine, it was as tight as hell and I had the same problem as you. After a fill or two. it gradually got a bit looser. You do have to bang the nozzle in quite hard though.

Never had any problem with it, other than the angle of entry, it just drops in.

It does for me. There is a little 'door' thing an inch or so in that pushes open when you push the nozzle in. Maybe yours is sticking for some reason.
Have a look for the plastic fuel filler funnel that should have come with your car (mine was in the glovebox others have found them in the boot), it's the exact size of a fuel nozzle. This will give you the chance to experiment without spilling fuel everywhere.
This is American but shows what should happen...

Only as far as the ridge on the pump nozzle! Just where the first bend is. The little flap on the car fuel pipe just pushes out of the way as you put the nozzle in.

Hope it wasn’t the diesel pump😉

Never had a problem with any of my last three motors with the same system.

I did manage to put £20 of petrol in my diesel though. Cost me £200 to remove it.

***SOLVED***

Thanks for the suggestion to use the fuel funnel adapter that comes with the car. Poked it in a few times and that freed it up. Just popped to the petrol station and got a nice full tank of 99ron
