Just having my first annual service done on the ST.
Health check all good but amazed at the report regarding brake pad wear.
Front pads 20% worn.. fair enough
Rear pads 50% worn... Really wow, when considering the mileage is just on 5500.
Astonishing and at that rate I will be putting on a new set of rear's next summer!

Yeh I noticed this on my mini cooper S. After 15000 miles I needed new pads on the rear. However, the front were fine. I found out that its part of the stability control to automatically put bit of rear break on.....not sure how true this is though.

The puma applies rear brakes lightly when cornering under certain conditions to assist with the corner.

Do you notice more brake dust on the rear wheels than the front?

This is mine at 7k and 14 months. Not sure what percentage it equates to though.

No not really.. But then the pads on the rear are smaller than those on the front. I am beginning to think "Sparks" has something re the wear is down to the Torque vectoring facility. Could be wrong?

Just dug out my service sheet. 18,000 mile service carried out in October this year. Car had 19152 miles on it. Technician listed 10% front and rear brake pad wear.
Admittedly, its not an ST but its got far more miles on it.
Just thought I'd let you know for comparison.
