Specifically, engine mods like the physical replacement air filter kits e.g. Mountune, and then the engine (remapping) software, or both.

Has anyone found these type of mods cause an unexpectedly expensive increase in insurance premium, or even the insurer refuse to accept the mod? What sort of increase on premium.

As far as Puma in concerned it seems only the ST has kits/remaps available curently, but I'm wondering what have been experiences on Puma or other Ford models.

Had a Bluespark unit fitted to my previous 125 Puma which brought the torque up to 155 spec. Performance improved across the range without reducing the mpg by much. Informed LV Insurance and incurred no extra cost. Was told if not reported cover could be void depending on circumstances.

The problem then only hits you when something happens and you need to claim, which could cost you far more.
Most don't hit you with anything major when informing them as they view you as a responsible owner. That said, I'm sure most of us have done something over the years that we have gambled on not telling the insurance.. ;) :D
