Hi,

I got my Puma ST-Line X 2 weeks ago, with a recall pending: Rear Shock Absorbers Leak #20B58.

I was told that it wasn't urgent and got to use the car for 4 days and 800km, with the plan to return afterwards for the recall to be solved.

Now that the recall has been performed, changing the rear absorbers, the car suspension feels very soft.

I've checked the rear Left shock absorber and the values written there are:
GKADA FoMoCo
L1TC-18080
1A101384-A

Can anyone confirm if that's the same one in your Puma's?
I have the fear that they have replaced the sport suspension for a Titanium level suspension (softer) :(

Thanks!

I think you may be right about it being a Titanium shock.

Thanks a lot DesertIslandBlue!

Then it means that either it's something else or it's just the effect of them being brand new.

The last sequence is different to yours according to the pic you posted, 21302A in yours and 20820A in his. Wouldn't that suggest that they are different shocks? I would still go back to the dealer and have them checked.

I agree with Sparks - check out with the dealer.
I know there is 'sports' suspension on the ST Line range but don't know whether the difference is springs and shocks...
From experience with other cars the car can ride higher and softer for a short time after having springs/shocks changed but settles quickly once loaded and driven. Still I would check back with the dealer (should be a different part numbers between models - anyone out there with ecat access?).

I am now relieved because the part that needed to be changed was only the shock absorber and now I know that they replaced it for the correct one.

Two further reasons for which I was wary, apart from the feeling on the road:
- They delayed two days the return of my car, telling that they had initially ordered an incorrect part.
- I found for sale a Rear Left Shock Absorber from a Ford Puma with "Sports tunned suspension" build in March 2020 (checked in etis) that suffered an accident and it had a different part number than mine: https://finndel.no/delinfo.aspx?f=369&dnr=301924

Sparks, the number you point out that's different seems to be only that individual part ID.

My Rear Right Shock Absorber has also that specific identification different, but the L1TC-18080 and 1A101384-A it's also equal.

Finally, I have scheduled a visit to the dealer to check the suspension.
